We're all dying, some just sooner than others...

I am exhausted by the depravity of man. Literally, it leaves me with no energy. I go to a hospital all day to see people with countless diseases. Then I go to 2 classes at night, where I learn about more diseases. In my Peeds class, we learned about disorders that kill children before their 2nd birthday. It's depressing to say the least. It's amazing how many different things can go wrong with the body.
Three thoughts:
1. I'm mad at Adam and Eve. Our body's were once without disease.
2. I long for a day without disease. Fortunately, Christ came for us so that day does exist.
3. I'm so blessed to not have these diseases currently. How often do I thank God for my good kidney function? :) Or that my blood clots enough to stop bleeding if I get a cut, but not too much that I have a heart attack?

My body is physically and emotionally exhausted. Thus, it is time for bed.

First Clinical

Today was my first day of clinical at PIH (Pres. Intercommunity hospital). Wow. I'm tired! The PTA I am following around does a lot of ICU (intensive care unit) patients, which is physically and emotionally draining. They need a lot of help to do anything (even raise their arm at all, bend knees, etc) and their families are right there the whole time in case something happens. I'll prob have a lot of patients die in the 6 weeks I am there, which is a hard fact for me to face. I'm used to patients who walk in, pick their kids up from school, etc.
After my clinical I had my first big test, it was in neurology. I had such a splitting headache at that point that the words on the paper started to get fuzzy (I felt like I had to squint to see straight) so I just did it as quick as possible. Oh well.
Thank you all for the prayers, and just letting me cry! One day down, 29 to go!

This makes me mad. Angry even. I think the 1st line says it all "Chile's president has signed a decree so that the morning-after contraceptive pill can be given to girls as young as 14 without their parents consent." Wow. I'm sure glad I don't live in Chile and have a daughter who could have an abortion and not let me find out about it. Scary thing is, that is also true in the United States.
In happier news, this  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6312429.stm   makes me laugh really hard. Apparently these Polish lace makers have finally given into what appeals to too many culture. Still a little sad I guess, but funny all at the same time.

I just realized I haven't posted anything for 2 months, and that is pethedic. Mostly because PTA school was taking over my life. I'm very happy to just be working these next 3 weeks with no school! I did really well in my classes so that was good. Next semester will be way harder though.
Lately I have been working, studying, or sleeping. Oh, or at Disneyland... jeff and my new favorite date spot. Way fun. My other favorite activity is playing with Aubrey Gallagher. I like her a lot.
Jeff and I are going to my house this weekend for Christmas. We have never spent a Christmas together, so I am very excited about that. I also haven't been home since September, so I'm just ready to sleep in my bed in my room, eat yummy food, and all of those fun things. Plus my brother and sister-in-law are coming from Az and I haven't seen them since Spring Break. I'm excited.
Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy time with family and friends!!
